Draft interactive interface

The above image is a screenshot of the prototype of the web-interface to be developed. Ten sample files have already been processed to showcase potential functionality. The prototype is currently only locally hosted.

Key features include:

  • Text searchability: Lines are filterable by a keyword search inputted to the search box to the left. All sentences without the word will be filtered out.
  • Time-aligned utterances: Audio is aligned with lines and provided a timestamp.
  • Moving, highlighted speaker bar: Speakers are color coated and have a corresponding bar that will appear over lines when they are speaking in the audio. The bar moves along with the audio until it reaches the center of the page. From then on, the transcript will move up alongside the audio progression, keeping the bar in the middle.
  • Clickable time stamps: Time stamps are all clickable and will cause the interview to jump to the time stamp’s place in the audio.
  • Playback: Playback can be either continuous or line by line. If the “Line by Line Playback” check box on the left is selected, users can click to hear a certain line and the audio will stop itself once that line is finished. Otherwise, the audio will play continuously.
